Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Coldstart, operated by TypeReal.

1. What Coldstart is

Coldstart is a subscription that gives you access to a library of launch sounds and an Apple Shortcut that plays your chosen sound when CarPlay connects. It is not affiliated with Apple, or with any vehicle manufacturer named in the sound library.

2. Requirements

You need an iPhone running iOS 17 or later, the Shortcuts app, and a CarPlay head unit. We cannot guarantee behaviour on jailbroken devices or on head units that block third-party audio at startup.

3. Subscription and billing

• Plans are billed either weekly at $5.99 or annually at $24.99.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled.
• Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

4. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. To cancel, email support@coldstart.app from the address you used at checkout.

5. Refunds

If the shortcut will not run on your setup and we cannot fix it, email us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full.

6. Acceptable use

The sounds are licensed to you for personal use in your own vehicle. You may not redistribute, resell, or publish the audio files.

7. Liability

Coldstart plays audio. Do not adjust settings while driving. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months.
